Story Time

Today I decided to take Mia to the library, when we got there they were starting Toddler story time. Mia saw all the other little kids and wanted to go so in we went.

She had a great time. The librarian read 3 books Knuffle Bunny, Finn throws a fit (I am so getting this for Kira), and Doodle Bites. Mia loved Knuffle Bunny. They also danced and sang some songs.

I was really surprised that Mia sat and listened to the reading she usually won't sit still for longer than one or two pages.

We will be going back next week.

First Baseball Game

Last night we took Emelia to her first baseball game. It was so much fun. I won $5 with the free lottery ticket I got for bringing in canned food. We started out by sitting in the stands but Mia really wanted to play with the other kids so we ended up sitting in the grassy area by the visiting team. I went to get fries and Mia went with me, she found the fried doughnut stand and stood there and pointed at the chocolate doughnuts until I came over and got her some (they were really good). While they were getting her doughnuts she bumped into their table and knocked over their display sodas. As the lady and I were picking them up Mia kept saying sorry - this was the first time she has said sorry.
Mia had a great time playing with the other kids and she got her first baseball. #35 a catcher from the Spokane Indians gave it to her. The game ended with fireworks which she loved.

It is amazing. Emelia went for 2 years without getting bumps, bruises and scrapes. But the day after her birthday this is what happened to her knees.

Since then she has scraped up her calf, bruised the other side of her knee and has a nice scratch down her arm.

Her cakes, I special ordered them from a local grocery store bakery they turned out great. I wanted them to match her dress.

Emelia had a dr appt today she is 29.4 pounds and 32 inches. Everything looked great except her cold. She has the beginning of bronchialitits (not sure of the spelling). Basically she has some inflamation on the outer bronchial. She is now on steroids and antibotics. She should start feeling and sounding better by Saturday.

Yesterday we went to the park for an Easter egg hunt. Emelia had a great time. She did great for her first egg hunt. She had it figured out within a couple seconds and just loved it. We were even interviewed for an article in the paper.

A Full Nights Sleep

Finally Emelia has slept through the night - 5 nights out of the last 7 I have gotten a full nights sleep. YAY!!!!!! It is so weird to wake up in the morning and to have actually slept for a straight 7 or 8 hours. It has been so long since I have had a full nights sleep.

This evening Emelia went to her potty chair and couldn't the lid open because I had pushed it to close to the couch. So she went to daddy cried and pointed at the chair he moved it and opened the lid. Emelia sat down and went poopy. All by herself! I am so proud of her! She is doing so great with this, I really thought it would be a lot harder to get her used to the potty.

Emelia is doing a great job with her potty training, she is even teaching her animals how to potty on the toilet. She will go into her room and get a doll or stuffed animal, bring them to her potty chair, sit them on it and tells them "potty" It is just so cute.

Cleaning

Emelia has started clearing her own plates from the table. She picks them up scrapes the leftover food into the garbage can and then puts them in the dishwasher. It is just so cute to watch.

She is still going pee on her potty chair, not everytime but at least once a day.

Isn't she pretty - she lives in a nearby pet store. She was rescued so that the USDA wouldn't put her down. She originally was smuggled into the US and seized by the government. Her current owners are wanting to build her a new outside home but the cost is around $80,000 they are trying to put the money together for her.

Potty Training

And we are off - Mia took off her diaper sat on her toilet and went potty today. She even wiped by herself. Where did my little baby go? She is growing up so fast. She also insisted on putting the potty chair back together after I cleaned it.

Walgreens is having a huge diaper sale this weekend and now I am worried I may have over traded for coupons.

First Dentist Appt

Today was Emelia's first dentist appt. Everything looked great, the dentist said she had very clean teeth. It was a very easy appointment all he did was look at her teeth and give her a fluoride treatment. We go back in three months for more fluoride.

She was great during the appt she cried for a bit but not too badly.

She got a toothbrush, dental floss, a balloon and a little rubber duckie.

Nap Time

After we got home from Walgreens Emelia decided it was nap time. She climbed into bed and snuggled up with her frog. A few minutes later this is what I found. She doesn't like pillows on her bed she prefers her big ol froggie.

Hospital Visit

About 2:00 today Emelia started acting sick, she was running a temp of 99.6. It wasn't anything too bad she was just more mellow than normal. Around 3:00 she crawled up in the chair with me and fell asleep. When Del got home around 6 she was still asleep and wouldn't fully wake up, her eyes kept rolling back. We checked her temp again and it was 101.6, she was really flushed and sweating quite a bit so we took her off to the hospital.

They tested her for strep throat, RSV, took X-rays - the works and nothing tested positive. They figured she just had a virus and told us to keep an eye on her and if she got worse to bring her back in. While they were getting our discharge papers she decided it was time to start playing. We got her home and I swear you couldn't tell she was sick a few hours ago.

It is a good thing I get hair dye for free this girl is going to cause me to go gray.

Just another day

A couple days ago Emelia flushed a bar of soap down the toilet, after a lot of plunging Del finally got it out. The next day Emelia got into the bathroom and what do I find her doing? Plunging the toilet. She just loves copying daddy.

She also loves to get her own sippy cup when she wants a drink, today all of the sippys were in the dishwasher. Emelia looked in her drawer and saw there were no sippys so she opened the dishwasher and grabbed one. She just picks up everything.

Mona's Shells Stuffed with Cheese - they had great flavor but were dry
Mona's Tortellini - Yummy awesome flavor and just great Del and Mia liked them as well. I think it was some of the best tortellini I have ever had.

Ben & Jerry One Cheesecake brownie - it is extremely rich but very good. It really does taste like cheesecake.

Emelia is such a polite little girl. Today at the Post Office she thanked the lady that held the door open for us when we went in, thanked the postal employee when he handed us our stamps and again when he handed us our change. 18 Month Appt

Today was Mia's 18 month appt. She weighs 27.8lbs and is 31 inches tall. Her height is in the 95% and her weight is in the 85%. Her Dr. thinks she will be 5ft 8 when she is grown. Currently she is the height of an average 3 year old, no wonder her pants are all too short.

She got one shot today but she handled it like a pro just a couple of tears and everything was ok again.

Not a whole lot to blog about today other than I have decided to make curtains for my guest room/office, I just need to find some fabric I like.

I have started planning Mia's 2nd Birthday party it will either be at Silverwood or Wild Waves. It will depend on the $$ and what each of their parties include. Silverwood doesn't allow you to bring in outside food and I want to make Mia's cake so I'm not too happy about that.

Emelia has also decided that talking on the phone is the best thing ever.

Why does Mia have to do everything the cat does? She follows him when he eats and then feeds him his food piece by piece. She tries to lay on the back of the couch with him, she wants to get under the furniture with him, whether she fits or not, she just doesn't understand she is bigger than the cat. Last night we put up the signs for Black Friday. Oh my I didn't get home until 6am. Yes I worked all night. Holy Crap what a nightmare it was. They got in 2 trucks of merchandise and had to get as much out as possible so they destroyed departments, basically we had to re-sign the entire store. Uggh I never want to do that again.

I work again tonight but we are just revealing the sale signs we already put up so hopefully I will be home by 2am.

I called Del after I got to work Saturday night. The first thing he says is guess what your daughter did? I had no idea so he told me. She was playing with the phone and thought it would be fun to call 911. So the deputies showed up and checked the entire house to make sure no one was in trouble.

I love how for such a small thing she can cause so much trouble.

Yes I live in a trailer, in a trailer park and we have had our child call 911 :)

We were at Shopko the other day and I overheard a couple talking. She was commenting on how she hadn't eaten lunch and asked the guy (I am assuming husband) with her if he had eaten yet. His response well did you make me lunch? Then I guess I haven't eaten yet.

I started laughing because that is so something I would have said.

Del is watching a VH1 show on 90s rap and hiphop,and it reminded me how much I loved that music. It was the music I partied to. I told him that when Mia is a teenager and has her friends over that will be the music I play. I just know she will tell me to turn down those oldies and that it is so embarrassing.

I went out of town to visit my family and when I got back Del had gotten a snake for me. I have been wanting to get another corn snake but just haven't yet. He picked up a beautiful creamsicle corn snake for me. As soon as he adjusts to the move I will post pics of him.

Ummm I believe he needs a name.

I have the Christmas music playing and have stated putting up decorations. Unfortunately most of my decorations are in a storage unit in Moses Lake but I am making do with what I have here. And I will buy whatever else I need.

I bought Mia a 4ft pink tree for her room but it is currently in my dining room.

Yay I voted! I was able to register at the polls which made it super easy. This was the first time I have gone to the polls to actually vote, every other time I voted absentee.

Its funny though because it totally brought back memories of going to the grange hall with my mom while she voted. And oddly enough the voting area has not changed much.

We took Mia to a carnival for Halloween she had a good time, all she wanted to do was play in the bouncy house. Even though she didn't understand that you needed to jump in it she still had fun.

Mia and Food

Del decided to go to bed early tonight, so that left me and Mia up. She kept walking from the kitchen to the bedroom after a few trip I decided to investigate. I went to the kitchen first, she had taken everything out of the drawers and put it on the floor. Next I go to the bedroom and there is Mia feeding Del some twizzlers he is also surrounded by cookies, hershey bars and reeses.

With Mia here Del will never go hungry.

My First Day

My first day, ok night, at Kohls went pretty good. I was really dreading going in but I actually had a good time. My scheduled shift was from 9pm to 1am, unfortunately the other 3 new girls didn't show up to work so we were there until after 3am. I got home just about 3:45. It was a long night.

Mia decided to get up at 6 when Del left for work thankfully I was able to get her back to sleep and she let me sleep in until 10:30.

The great thing about Kohls is they have a benefit package for part time employees and it is $500 cheaper than the one Del can get from work. So I think I should keep the job for health insurance.

I found a way to make money while I play on the internet. It is chacha.com basically all I do is answer questions that people send in. It's not a whole lot of money but I will get enough to buy a new coach purse. (Hear that Kira!!!)
